VEE IS B CORP CERTIFIED
Since June 2024, VEE COLLECTIVE is officially B Corp certified. This prestigious certification measures a company’s entire social and environmental impact, aiming to recognize those who meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.
Companies who apply for certification undergo a rigorous assessment. In order to achieve certification, a company must:
- Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing B Corp’s risk review.
- Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.
- Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.
Based on the B Impact assessment, VEE COLLECTIVE earned an overall score of 98.7. This easily surpasses the minimum score required for certification of 80 points and greatly exceeds the median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment at 50.9.
This score was determined across five principal categories: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
Governance: Evaluates a company's overall mission, engagement around its social/environmental impact, ethics and transparency.
Workers: Evaluates a company’s contributions to its employees’ financial security, health & safety, wellness, career development and engagement & satisfaction.
Community: Evaluates a company’s engagement with and impact on the communities in which it operates, hires from and sources from.
Environment: Evaluates a company’s overall environmental management practices as well as its impact on the air, climate, water, land and biodiversity.
Customers: Evaluates a company’s stewardship of its customers through the quality of its products and services, ethical marketing, data privacy and security and feedback channels.
This certification recognizes VEE COLLECTIVE’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its conscious effort to place environmental and social responsibility at the core of its business. Some examples of this commitment include: our bags are made exclusively of recycled vegan materials, all fabrics are Oekotex, Bluesign and GRS Scope certified and all packaging is recycled and recyclable.
VEE COLLECTIVE is committed to accountability, transparency and continuous improvement. We acknowledge that we are far from perfect and are working to become the best version of ourselves. Here are some of our future goals to minimize our impact on the environment:
2024: We will introduce FSC certified durable paper care bags, which are 100% natural and recyclable, aiming to provide the lowest impact packaging on the market.
2025: We plan to eliminate all plastic from our packaging. Additionally, we aim to become carbon neutral through insetting, further emission reductions, and certified offsetting.
2028: We aim to increase the percentage of natural materials in our products to 50%.
2030: We aim to transition completely to certified Bio-Nylon for all products.
